Dudes, especially in a young state, the gov must act harshly to set an example.
After resisting the first attempt of the gov to set things straight, the population proved itself as rebels.
You can’t allow a state within a state, or to quote the great Margaret Thatcher: “now we have to fight the enemy within”.

OK, looking at the body count they were way to enthousiastic in their violence, but in principle they were right.

Ofcourse the most stable country would be a country with no inhabitants.

If for some reason you’d decide that -some- inhabitants might not be such a bad idea, a totalitarian regime is the most succesful option if you’re looking for stability.

Of course it is unfortunate what happened but dont you think that the stability of a country might be threatened if random villages are starting to secede?
